Energize Phoenix Expands Boundaries
Energize Phoenix received approval to expand the program boundaries effectively immediately. See map for the new boundaries. Please note, residents should enter their address on the website to see if they are included in the new boundaries.
In addition, a new residential program called Energy Assist is now available for qualified participants. The program is for single-family detached low-to moderate-income homeowners along the Energize Phoenix Corridor that meet specific income requirements (annual gross income of approximately less than $89,000 per family of four). The Energy Assist Program provides a grant for 60% of eligible energy efficiency costs with 40% provided by the homeowner.
We are always looking for ways to connect, please let us know if you are interested in a presentation of the program or any additional information. Also, if you have ad rates for your newsletter or website, please let us know!

Phoenix City Council vote on billboards
As ordinary citizens and residents of Phoenix you already know we’re tired of the City caving in to the national billboard companies, putting up massive new billboards in neighborhoods and opening up new, unmarred freeways for billboards. Cities all over the country, from Scottsdale to Tucson, Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Washington D.C. to Boston have gone the other way, cracking down on this sort of blight.
If we are going to put a stop to City Hall’s nonsense we need your help!
Clear Views Phoenix is asking that you come out and speak up against billboards at the December 7th city council meeting. With your support we can encourage City Hall to take action to stop enormous signs and ‘TVs on a stick.
What: Phoenix City Council vote on billboards
Where: Phoenix Council Chambers: 200 West Washington Street, Phoenix, 85003
When: 5:00pm December 7, 2011

Comments Sought on NSP3 Substantial Amendment Draft
SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE 2010-2011 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (Dodd-Frank Act) authorized $970 million in federal funding to assist in the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes across the nation. The city of Phoenix was allocated $16 million of these funds, under the Act’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP3). The city has prepared a draft plan that details the proposed use of these funds, called the Substantial Amendment to the 2010-2011 Annual Action Plan, and seeks comments on the plan. The plan can be accessed at:
http://www.phoenix.gov/residents/stabilization/nsp/funding/index.html
A copy of the draft may also be reviewed at the Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department, 200 W. Washington St., 4th floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
The draft plan proposes that NSP3 funds be used to continue some of the programs implemented under NSP1 and NSP2, which address abandoned, foreclosed properties through acquisition, rehabilitation, demolition, redevelopment and financial incentives. Funds must serve households at or below 120 percent of area median income (AMI)
You are invited to submit your comments on the proposed strategies from January 26 to February 12, 2011 by calling our hotline at (602) 256-3302 or emailing nsd@phoenix.gov, (if emailing, please include the following in the subject line: ATTN: NSP3 Comment).
